10 Gift Ideas for Sewists - Etsy Gift Guide
Gift giving season is one of my favorite seasons! Since gift giving is one of my top love languages, I love taking the time to find a thoughtful gift for my loved ones. I often find myself going to gift guides for inspiration, but find them to be too general. “Gifts for Him” or “Gifts for Her” just don’t cut it nowadays. To give a gift that will be appreciated (and actually used), I think about the interests and hobbies of the gift receiver.
As a sewist who has received a lot of gifts that I later re-gifted or donated… I decided it was about time I created a gift guide!
I’ve made a list of 10 gift ideas from Etsy sellers that the sewist in your life will love (and actually use). For my fellow budget friendly gift givers out there, they are all under $50. Not only will your creative loved one appreciate the thoughtful gift but you will also be supporting a small business this season! I’ve included links to some of my favs, but if they aren’t quite what you’re looking for, take some time to see what some other makers have to offer.
Hope this helps gifting SEAM less scary this year!
Check out these sewist gift ideas below:
Seam Rippers made from recycled silverware - $23
Seam rippers are a tool that sewists are using all the time (even though we try to avoid it). These are so beautiful and I love that the handles are made from recycled silverware!
Giant Button coasters - $6.25 w/shipping
I am constantly drinking coffee and tea in my sewing room. These giant button coasters are perfect, especially on slippery surfaces like polished table tops or window sills.
Sewing Weights - $23
I recently transitioned from pinning my pattern pieces to using sewing weights. It makes the cutting process go by so much faster because I don’t have to put in and take out pins. There are so many cute designs by makers on Etsy! I love these botanical themed ones. You could even make your own by decorating heavy coasters or stones.
Enamel pins - $12.45
I mean, who doesn’t love an enamel pin?! It’s such a fun way to tell the world a little bit about who you are. There are so many Sewist pins on Etsy, but I loved that this maker had a set of 5!
Cactus Pin Cushion - $20
Who says your pin cushion has to be a tomato? Not me. I love this little handmade cactus pincushion. The pins actually add to the design! This is the perfect gift for a sewist plant parent.
Sewciopath Mug - $20
You all already know my sewing room is littered with coffee and tea mugs. What’s one more? And this one so simply describes the crazy creativity that embodies every sewist out there.
Sewing Journal - $21
This is great for the type A sewist who thrives on organization. Sewing journals are great for planning and looking back on. I loved that this one is a physical journal, but there are plenty of digital download versions out there! To save some change, purchase a downloadable version and print it at home. Put it i a pretty binder and you’ve got yourself a great gift!
